帕特里克·汉密尔顿 - 艺术家 - GALERÍA RGR

(1974年，比利时)

帕特里克·汉密尔顿（Patrick Hamilton）就学于智利大学艺术专业，他的艺术作品带有政治属性，并通过抽象主义和概念艺术表达了社会概念。在帕特里克的作品中，能清晰感受二十世纪先锋艺术对其的影响，艺术家创造了独有的批判性；通过此艺术批判模式，省却了繁琐的叙述方式，使艺术家更强烈并有效地呈现给观众他敏锐的思辨。

例如作品《Abrasive Paintings》系列，是通过艺术家用黑色、红色、黄色和白色的砂纸制作而成。艺术家用它们制作成几何图案，矩形暗示着砖块；乍一看无害的设计实质上却隐藏着侵略性意义，艺术家将理性设计的“冷酷”和简单却强烈的情感基础进行了对比。从更广泛的意义上来讲，汉密尔顿试图在艺术中表达一种冲突，并与他的故国（无论是西班牙还是智利）之间建立层层联系，从而探索它们的社会问题及其历史根源。

因此可以说，汉密尔顿的艺术作品是通过不同媒介，从绘画到城市规划，将他的反思集中在对社会和政治紧张局势的分析上。

帕特里克·汉密尔顿目前在西班牙马德里和智利圣地亚哥之间生活和工作。
