Eduardo Terrazas, 1.1.77, Wool yarn on wooden board, covered by Campeche wax, 1974-2013.

συν χρόνος are the words in ancient Greek that articulate the term synchrony: the simultaneity of facts and phenomena. This exhibition brings together works by artists of different generations in order to emphasize coincidences in their practices, regardless the years in which the pieces were produced.

In this set, the works produced by key modern artists in the development of non-figurative Latin American and international art (Carlos Cruz-Diez, Manuel Mérida, Francisco Salazar, Jesus Rafael Soto, Eduardo Terrazas, Victor Vasarely) are set in dialogue with pieces by contemporary artists (Elias Crespin, Patrick Hamilton, Paul Muguet) in terms of their formal interests and their search for a geometric abstract language, in their intention to reconcile art and technology, the actualization of traditional or indigenous aesthetics and plastic solutions as well as in the use of industrial materials or everyday objects.
