Magdalena Fernández Ecos @ Museo Amparo

The Amparo Museum opens the exhibition "Magdalena Fernández Ecos", which brings together works created more than a decade ago. This group of proposals heads the most relevant of her artistic production and represents a sort of selected chronology of her recent works. It is at the same time a sequence of "echoes" of the artists she has paid tribute to and, if one wants to see it this way, a personal history of abstract art from the sensitive and intelligent gaze of the artist.

Magdalena Fernández (Caracas, 1964) is one of the most relevant artists in Latin American art today. Her works based on video, installations, sculptures and engravings consist of the exploration of two thematic axes: nature (and landscape) and the re-reading of an essential chapter in the history of art such as abstraction, of great strength and validity in many Latin American countries, among which her native Venezuela stands out.
